Every career journey takes a different path. Sometimes, professional growth comes from taking on a new challenge, learning through experience, and recognising opportunities to use existing skills in new ways. Darshan’s journey at Rise & Shine Property Services is an example of how a role can become the starting point for something more.

A New Chapter at Rise & Shine

Darshan joined Rise & Shine Property Services in August 2023 as a Commercial Cleaner. Before joining the company, he had experience working as a hotel supervisor. Moving into commercial cleaning marked a new chapter in his professional journey, giving him the opportunity to bring his existing experience into a different working environment.

His journey reflects an important part of career development: previous experience can create value in ways that are not always immediately obvious. Different roles offer different perspectives, and the skills developed along the way can become useful foundations for future opportunities.

Growing Beyond the Role

Over time, Darshan’s journey at Rise & Shine progressed beyond his initial position. His skills in marketing, combined with his network of professional contacts, became valuable strengths that supported his development within the company.

Professional growth does not always follow a straight line. It can involve recognising where your strengths fit, applying what you already know, and finding new ways to contribute. Darshan’s experience highlights how skills gained outside a specific role can also play a part in shaping a person’s career.

His progression demonstrates the value of recognising individual strengths and the different experiences people bring to an organisation. A person’s contribution is not defined solely by their starting position, but also by the skills, knowledge and relationships they develop along the way.

From Commercial Cleaner to Service Manager

After joining Rise & Shine as a Commercial Cleaner, Darshan progressed to the position of Service Manager over approximately two and a half years.

This change represents a significant step in his professional journey. It also highlights how career paths can evolve when people bring a combination of experience, transferable skills and professional relationships into their work.

Darshan’s background in hotel supervision, together with his marketing skills and industry contacts, forms an important part of his story. His journey is a reminder that professional development can take many forms, and that experience from one field can open up possibilities in another.

Celebrating Career Growth at Rise & Shine

At Rise & Shine Property Services, our people are an important part of what we do. Every individual brings a different background, set of skills and perspective to the organisation.

Darshan’s journey from Commercial Cleaner to Service Manager is a reminder that a career can develop in unexpected ways. His experience shows how a change in direction can lead to new opportunities, and how skills developed across different roles can contribute to professional growth.

We’re proud to share stories that recognise the people behind our work and celebrate the different paths that shape their careers. Darshan’s journey is one example of how a starting point does not have to define where a career can go next.

Every journey is different, and every new chapter brings the opportunity to grow.
